These studio terms and conditions apply to every session, tour and service at Sonic-Rocket Productions, 1662 Green Briar Lane, Fallbrook, CA. They’re written to be read, so please do.

Booking and deposits
— Every session is booked in advance, by appointment. The shortest session is 2 hours.
— A deposit holds your time: $50 for a 2- to 5-hour session and $100 for an 8-hour day. The deposit comes off your total.
— The balance is due at the end of the session.
— We accept credit and debit cards, cash, PayPal and Venmo.
— Sonic-Rocket reserves the right to refuse service to anyone.

Rescheduling, cancellations and refunds
—Booked by mistake? Cancel within 24 hours of booking, and at least 48 hours before the session, and we’ll refund your deposit in full.
— Apart from that, deposits are non-refundable.
— Reschedule 24 hours or more ahead and your deposit moves to the new date (one reschedule per deposit).
— Cancelling instead of rescheduling, or cancelling or missing your session with less than 24 hours’ notice, forfeits the deposit.
—If we have to cancel (illness, a power outage or anything else on our side), you choose: a new date, or a full refund of your deposit.

Your session time
— Time booked is time billed. Your session runs from the booked start time to the booked end time.
— If you arrive late, the session still ends at the booked time.
— Need more time? Extra time is billed at $75 an hour, when the room and the engineer are free.
— Studio time includes normal engineer breaks: meals, rest and restroom visits.

Getting the result you want
— We want you to love what you make here. If something isn’t right, tell your engineer during the session so we can fix it while you’re here.
— You’re paying for studio time and the engineer’s work, not for a particular result, so time that has been used isn’t refunded.
— Remote mixing and mastering are paid in full before work begins and include two rounds of revisions. Further revisions are billed at $75 an hour.
— Music production projects: if you’re not happy with how a project is going, either of us can pause or end it at any point. Payments made up to then aren’t refunded.

Your music and files
—Your music is yours. Sonic-Rocket claims no ownership of, or publishing in, your songs or recordings.
— You confirm that you have the rights to any beats, samples, lyrics or other material you bring to a session.
— We release session files and masters only once the session is paid in full, and only to the person who paid for it.
— Bring a Mac-formatted hard drive or USB drive and take a copy of your files home after every session.
— We keep session files for 90 days after your last session. After that we may delete them, so your own copy is the one to rely on.
— Sonic-Rocket isn’t responsible for materials, gear or recordings left at the studio.

Photos and video
— Our rooms have cameras for video productions, and we may take photos or video during your session.
— We’ll always ask your permission before using any of it publicly. Our free promotional video productions are the exception: you sign a release before we make them, and that release covers how we use them.

Studio conduct and safety
— No smoking inside the studio. Smoking is permitted on the patio.
— No illegal drugs anywhere on the property.
— The studio is in a residential neighborhood, so please keep noise down outside.
— Anyone under 18 needs a parent or guardian at the session, or a consent form signed by one.
— We may end a session early, without a refund, if anyone is intoxicated, behaving unsafely or damaging equipment.
— If you break something beyond normal wear and tear, you cover the repair.
— We clean and sanitize the studio before every session. By using the studio you agree not to hold Sonic-Rocket liable for health issues arising from studio use.
— Permissions, insurance and releases (for example for a location shoot or a featured performer) are the client’s responsibility.

Session musicians
— We don’t have session players on staff, but we know professional musicians in the area. Once we’ve heard your music, usually on your studio tour, we can refer you to the right players. We don’t charge for referrals.
— Any arrangement with those players is directly between you and them, so agree your own terms with them.

— Booking a session or service with Sonic-Rocket means you agree to these terms.
— We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page when you book is the one that applies to that booking.
— These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
